Nestled between the White Sands coastline to the east and stunning mountain ranges to the west, the region of Shoalhaven is a stunningly beautiful region on the eastern coast of New South Wales. Situated along the Princes Highway, which connects the city to Sydney by way of a 2-hour drive, Shoalhaven is home to the world-famous Jervis Bay, a shining jewel standing out above even the many miles of golden beaches that line New South Wales’ eastern edge. While officially designated as a city in terms of local government, the 100,000 strong population is dispersed over a large number and the region divided into towns, the largest of which is called Nowra. As well as having a rich history both aboriginal and post-European settlement, the area is known for its many events ranging from culture and arts festivals to sporting and leisure activities including surfing and kayaking at the well-known Hyams beach as well as the other beaches that line the White Sands coastline.

Despite being relatively rural for a region so well-connected, the area has undergone gentrification and is now a very sought-after region, with the tourism brought in by the city’s beautiful seaside locale and other traffic heading south from Sydney driving the real estate industry higher and higher as time passes, with the median house price exceeding $1.1 million AUD. Aside from the Princes Highway, Shoalhaven is also connected to Sydney and much of the rest of New South Wales by the South Coast railway line, giving rise to a even larger concentration of buyers and sellers of property in the region as it continues to develop.
