Residz loves to feature some of the unique properties listed for free on its popular property research platform. Incredibly, we currently have a listing for The White House complete with ‘Oval Office.’

Yes, you read correctly. The White House on nearly two hectares of land is for sale by expressions of interest through Stone Real Estate. But let me add quickly the address of this White House is 30 South Pacific Drive in Macmasters Beach in NSW.

Helicopter access

According to the Stone listing, the 650 sqm four bedroom home is a ‘resort-style sanctuary’ sitting on the headland above Macmasters Beach, adjoining Bouddi National Park. There’s ‘helicopter access with council approval’ and if you were to visit by helicopter it would take you about 25 minutes from Sydney International Airport. Otherwise, it’s about a 1.5 hour drive.

The ‘Oval Office’

An ‘Oval Office’ is mentioned both in the real estate listing and on the Stayz website (where it can be booked as holiday accommodation for an average $2,917 AUD per night), but there don’t appear to be photos of it. However, the plans on the Central Coast Holidays website show a study with a curved wall which could be loosely termed an ‘Oval Office’ and there are images of a round or oval spa!

Golf anybody?

There’s also the golf putting/pitching green, and you can cool off afterwards in the heated 12.5 x 5 metre in-ground mineral pool set amid some seriously glamorous landscaping.

Other features include:

Investability score

Regards the local area, Central Coast Holidays recommends whale watching in season and walking trails nearby for those lovers of the great outdoors. It certainly is a lovely spot. Running a Residz property report on the address, we see that Macmasters Beach has an investability score of 64 out of 100 on the Residz Investability Index(™), which is above the NSW average of 59 out of 100.

“Post-COVID and the growth in working from home has lessened the demand for local employment options. This may make Macmasters Beach a better buying opportunity than it may have been in the past.” - Residz

History of area

The local village has for decades been a getaway for seasonal and weekend holidaymakers who surf and swim on the safe and summer-patrolled beaches.

5 Lands Walk writes that Macmasters Beach area was an important occupation site and meeting place for the Darkinjung people. The Local Aboriginal Land Council website says traditional boundaries of Darkinjung (Darkinyung) land extend from the Hawkesbury River in the south, Lake Macquarie in the north, the McDonald River and Wollombi up to Mt Yengo in the west and the Pacific Ocean in the East.

As to its current name, Macmasters Beach was named after Allan Macmaster, according to the Central Coast Family History Society. Born in Corribeg, Scotland, Allan and wife Catherine McMillan had 10 children before moving to Australia in 1838. In the 1850s he purchased 600 acres of land in the Brisbane Water district, part of a land grant given to Mr. John Tooth.

“Allan became a subsistence farmer, and successfully grew corn, peaches, pears, bananas, apricots, figs, quinces, lemons and oranges on his property. He also raised cattle, which provided the family with milk, butter and beef.”

Allan’s gravestone (with the spelling McMaster) lies near the present day ‘Corribeg Reserve’ on Tudibaring Parade in the suburb of Macmasters Beach.
